Today is the day that we bid farewell to our AMAZING host families and to our sister-club DOS'46. We simply cannot put into words how thankful we are of how well we have been looked after the past week and how much we have loved our time in Nijeveen. As a token of our appreciation, we decided we would cook our host families a traditional Kiwi Brunch!
We met at the DOS'46 sports hall at 10:00am to start cooking. Our "guests" (our lovely host families) arrived at 11:00am. We served them baked beans, scrambled eggs and bacon on toast. There was milk, juice, tea and coffee to drink and some mandarins and apples to eat also. Following a few comments and kind words to say thank you, we all ate and conversed together. We each took photos with our families too, before having to set off for the train station.

Eating Brunch
Our train from Meppel to Amsterdam was leaving at 1:55pm. We said goodbye to our Nijeveen families and there were lots of tears from many players who were sad to bid farewell. We really did form some very close bonds.
However, it was now time to say hello to our new families in Sassenheim! We got off the train at the airport and said farewell to Calib, who was leaving us to go on another adventure - then we jumped on a new train to Sassenheim. We met a random young man who impressed us with his card-tricks and suddenly we were there!
For the rest of the day we just relaxed and spent time with our new families.
